The War is over (Behind the song)

Not all wars are on the battlefield. Some are on the battlefields we make. If couples don’t learn to love they learn to fight. And as the battle rages the battle scars become more apparent so eventually when the battle is finished still the scars remain. It would have been better to have learned how to love in the beginning and be without the scars that tarnish the remaining years. Although still together at least the war has been finished, the relationship has been preserved scared as it may be. The principle at Matthew 24:13 applies, “But the one who has endured to the end will be saved.” The principle is that such endurance brings results, a preserved relationship which finally begins to grow in love now that the war is over.  However the endurance is much easier without the war and can be acquired if love guides a relationship in the beginning.  If the couple puts into practice these words very little war results: “Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous. It does not brag, does not get puffed up,  does not behave indecently, does not look for its own interests, does not become provoked. It does not keep account of the injury.  It does not rejoice over unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth.  It bears all things, believes  all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never fails ”– 1 Corinthians 13:4-8. This is the formula that avoids all wars and its scars.
