WHERE HAVE THE FEELINGS GONE (BEHIND THE SONG)

The Florida state fair was in full swing and the year was 1985. The wife was sick so I took the kids to the fair. When were about to leave my almost 4 year wanted an ice cream cone. He had eaten about one half and insisted he wanted to take the rest to mommy. I never argue when a 4 year old ,who wants to take something to mommy, but I knew that shortly he would soon SEE why that  wasn’t such a good idea. So off we went with enough napkins to cover a barn. But that really caused no disturbance, like what I had seen earlier.

Usually in these kind of events there is always a freak show and the kids wanted to go in. Well ,maybe I was a little curious as well. I don’t remember now what the condition of the person was, I just remember the sadness that overtook me. Later I read about how some individuals with these strange and unique conditions were  taken advantage as well as being overworked. I wondered where were their loved ones and how were they feeling the necessary human need for love for they were persons with feelings and needs like ours. But then that’s just one spoke on the wheel of human pain and misery.  The senseless killings, torture and abuse that goes on daily all over the world.  Why if a light would go on each time these horrible things happen even in secret , the earth would  have a brightness .like a sun from outer space. But these horrible things come from us, and they are loosed on us, for children are innocent but they are conditioned by their environment. What do we do to protect that environment or is our focus so intent on freedom that we allow impressionable minds to be influenced by everything that they haven’t acquired the ability to assess logically. No wonder the words at Matt 24:11, 12 apply ,”  Many false prophets will arise and mislead many; and because of the increasing of lawlessness, the love of the greater number will grow cold”.  2 Timothy 3:1-3 says, ” But know this, that in the last days critical times hard to deal with will be here. ,For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, haughty, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, disloyal,3having no natural affection, not open to any agreement, slanderers, without self-control, fierce, without love of goodness, betrayers, headstrong, puffed up with pride, lovers of pleasures rather than lovers of God,  having an appearance of godliness but proving false to its power; and from these turn away”. With these horrible influences is it any wonder that young minds and families have become easy prey by the dangers in the world around us.  And although good  families accomplish much with their children and good example, the above dangers remain.
