Sailing ship (Behind the song)
To sail on the sea is wonderful experience, to smell the salty air and feel the windy breeze as the ship quietly cuts through the smooth silky water. But not so with the sailing ship of the song, it’s a different kind of journey that takes you farther than you intended to go. We all go on journeys that we sailed away on only to find we wanted to get back even if it only meant back to square one or even less, just get back. The fact is some wrong decisions take away from us values we didn’t intend to loose whether they be monetary ones or otherwise. They leave us wanting to get back at whatever cost. To be with family and friends and that all this unwanted trip can be forever forgotten. As Psalm 73:2 tells accurately , “As for me, my feet had almost strayed; My steps had nearly slipped.” We want intensely for Proverbs 4:26 to be fulliled on us, “ Smooth out the course of your feet, And all your ways will be sure.” So whether this decision took us sailing on a wrong course or a just a monetary loss it can sail us back home if we just want to take the steps to turn back. As the last line of the chorus says,”You’ve got to sail me back home” May your sailing ship get you back home as did mine.

Very nice for a solo work. I wonder what it would sound like with harmony, bass, percussion…
