Seasons of the Storm (Behind the song)

Going through a major storm alone can be a terrifying experience. Although another person can do nothing  to stop or control the storm, yet their positive attitude can do a lot to ease the tension. The same is  true of the negative storms we face in life. Sometimes we get amazed at the ability of some to face the worst and cruelest  kinds of treatment and maintain their hope, faith and happy frame of mind. That is what the song  ‘Seasons of the storm’ is about. It is about those individuals who seem to face anything  successfully  and help others to do the same.  Some years ago I met a Jewish woman who had suffered under the nazi regime in various concentration camps and she told of some remarkable people who survived the camps. She said they helped others, shared their limited food, and in spite of the inhumane conditions, remained positive and encouraging to others. The were Jehovah’s  Witnesses.  2 Timothy 1:8 explains how one could endure such horrible treatment, it says, “  .. but take your part in suffering adversity for the good news by relying on the power of God”. That is the secret to making it through any storm no matter how horrible. These thoughts were behind the song, ‘Seasons of the storm’.
