BUT SADLY AFTER TIME PASSES THAT ONENESS TURNS INTO TWO DIFFERENT WORLDS LEAVING WHAT WAS BEAUTIFUL AS A THING TO ENDURE AND EVENTUALLY SEVER PERMANTLY. IT BECOMES COLD AND IMPOSSIBLE TO REPAIR. HOW CAN WE FIX IT? THE ANSWER IS IN THESE WISE WORDS THAT FOCUS ON EXACTLY WHAT IS NEEDED BY BOTH PARTIES AND REALLY SOVLES THE PROBLEM . THE WIFE NEEDS TO BE SHOWN LOVE AND CONSIDERATION AND THE HUSBAND NEEDS TO BE SHOWN RESPECT AND A FEELING OF WORTH. SO THESE WISE WORDS TARGET THOSE VERY NEEDS, “You husbands, keep on loving your wives and do not be bitterly angry with them.” AND “Nevertheless, each one of you must love his wife as he does himself; on the other hand, the wife should have deep respect for her husband.” COLOSSIANS 3:19 AND EHPESIANS 5:33. MEN NEED TO RECOGNIZE THAT RESPECT IS EARNED NOT DEMANDED. THE SONG ACKNOWLEDGES THAT THE TWO MAY NOT TAKE THE TIME TO KNOW EACH OTHER REALLY INSIDE BECAUSE OF BEING SO FOCUSED ON WHAT WE WANT THE OTHER TO BE, RATHER THAN COMING TO LOVE WHAT THE OTHER IS. IF WE CAN JUST LISTEN, WE MAY BE “BOTH SAYING SOMETHING SO DEAR” WHEN WE START TO LOOK AT EACH OTHER IN THESE WAYS THOSE TWO DIFFERENT WORLDS CAN BECOME ONE AGAIN.
