UNTOUCHABLE (Behind the song)
There can be many reasons why one becomes untouchable, and a large portion relate to treatment. How was one mistreated or what catastrophic events took place in the life of the untouchable. For it is a natural human desire to be touched and shown love. What takes away the normal requirement? None other than abuse and the passing through events that have ripped the feelings out of every natural fiber possessed. For instance, an abused child suffering years of abuse becomes untouchable and a soldier who has seen the horrors of war finds if hard to close the touching gap. These things kill the person inside, as the song intimates with the words, “in this life there are so many ways to die’. The song is about a real person burnt through by the scars of the past that needed to become touchable again. But how with scars so deep? With genuine LOVE as the text at 1 Corinthians 13:8, “ Love never fails”. Why does it never fail? Because the text continues , “ Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous. It does not brag, does no get puffed up, does not behave indecently, does not look for its own interests, does not become provoked. It does not keep account of the injury. It does not rejoice over unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth. It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never fails”. This kind of Love is exactly what the downtrodden, traumatized soul needs to get through the rest of life and step by step get back on the track of normalized feelings. As the song continues, “Scraping out the empty space inside, don’t let your past be your guide”’ Dear reader if you have been traumatized by the horrid things of the past look for the genuine kind of love mentioned above and follow this advice in Proverbs 3:5,6, “Trust in Jehovah with all your heart, And do not rely on your own understanding. In all your ways take notice of him, And he will make your paths straight”. Go to the website JW.org and look for the loving and comforting words for all those suffering from past injustices heaped upon them through absolutely no fault of their own. These are the feelings and thoughts behind the song ‘Untouchable’.
