We’ve gotta keep on trying (Behind the song)

Relationships have many sides that make it difficult until everything is out in the open. Sometimes couples fear to share the shameful things in their past.. When it comes out, It may be a shock to the unsuspecting mate but it may finally answer what may have been a puzzle regarding the actions that remained a mystery until revealed. Such information can be a block to keeping on trying. This is where true love and forgiveness kicks in and the past is forgiven, because everyone makes mistakes but what counts is now and has there been a major change from what was once practiced or a one time action. So many things happen in our lives that form what we are but it is important to reveal all in the beginning so there are no surprises that could end a relationship. It is better to keep on trying from the beginning. However under such circumstances how can one get through and keep on trying.  Of course, couples have to decide but some helpful advice is recorded at,Colossians 3:13 , “Continue putting up with one another and forgiving one another freely even if anyone has a cause for complaint against another. Just as Jehovah freely forgave you, you must also do the same.”  This applies in general to all but of course when it come to choosing someone to live the rest of your life with one has to decide if they can live with the thought of that past conduct. This doesn’t mean there is no forgiveness, just not able to live with someone who was involved in such gross conduct.  However when one has  already made a commitment without knowing of the the past conduct, then this counsel applies that the couple needs to keep on trying to preserve the relationship especially if a good relationship has been experienced to the present and past conduct is far behind.  As the song says, “ you had something that was haunting, you couldn’t move aside ,but now it s clear  where we’re standing,  we’ve gotta keep on, we’ve gotta  keep on trying”.
