Where’s his country (Behind the song)
Pieces of land have been scraped together and held onto possessively and eventually become a country. And now we have planet earth all divided up into separate nations who hold on tightly to their bordered earthly spot and sometimes try to acquire or claim other spots belong to them. They manipulate and work up their citizens to believe their claim is a valid one as they dress them up in soldiers uniforms and send them into battle to somehow validate their claim. Humankind has been the victim of this land grab and empire building which has manipulated and divided the masses and used them to accomplish the self-centered goals and aspirations of the controllers. The masses are born within these preconceived borders and are conditioned to believe this is their country a happening that could have occurred anywhere on the planet changing one’s perceived loyalties do to geography and nothing more. On the battlefield one must demonize and dehumanize the enemy when they are nothing more than the same as you or I and are only changed by latitude and longitude. They are humans who love, have friends and family and are special. But they must be killed because they are in a different bend of geography and they have a different rallying cry from a different manipulator. For thousands of years we have learned to accept this divisive concept promoted by those who started the power struggle. When really we are all part of the colorful human race needing to love one another regardless of nation or race. The song ‘Where’s his country’ laments this sad situation. What a pity to have ones life altered by another’s goals and desires. Will such a long history be eliminated, will humanity be a united body without war, greed and even the manipulating and conditioning of others. Will all nations really be united with war forever eliminated? Absolutely! Isaiah 2:4 pomises, “He will render judgment among the nations And set matters straight respecting many peoples. They will beat their swords into plowshares And their spears into pruning shears. Nation will not lift up sword against nation, Nor will they learn war anymore.” Revelation 22:2 ,”On both sides of the river were trees of life producing 12 crops of fruit, yielding their fruit each month. And the leaves of the trees were for the healing of the nations”. Revelation 15:4, “Who will not really fear you, Jehovah, and glorify your name, for you alone are loyal? For all the nations will come and worship before you, because your righteous decrees have been revealed.” Acts 15:14, “Symʹe·on has related thoroughly how God for the first time turned his attention to the nations to take out of them a people for his name.” All these texts make it clear that this long status quo will be changed. What about nations that want to keep their national sovereignty? The answer is, “In the days of those kings the God of heaven will set up a kingdom that will never be destroyed. And this kingdom will not be passed on to any other people. It will crush and put an end to all these kingdoms, and it alone will stand forever” So really then, “Where’s his country”? It really is the one in all the quotes above. These things inspired the song “Where’s his country”.
